Board of Directors BIO

Mr. Myles Hamilton

Board Member | Alberta

I grew up in Airdrie and my first connection with Prairie was as a child in the late 60’s and early 70’s when I attended summer Bible school and a camp run by Prairie students. My wife Corinne and I will be celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary this year and are the proud parents of two children. Our son Luke is 28 years old and he and his wife are actors located in New York City. Our daughter Carly is 27 and is an entrepreneur in Calgary with her own food company called Crème.

Most of my career has been spent in consumer packaged goods. I worked in Sales & Marketing for Procter & Gamble for six years, then spent fifteen years with Frito Lay and was Vice President of Western Canada for most of my tenure. My next position was Managing Partner of Spitz Sunflower Seeds until I sold the company to Pepsico. After about seven years as a consultant, I partnered with another family to purchase CanMar Foods Ltd located in Regina, Saskatchewan, and currently hold the position of president of this company.

I believe in Christian education and value the fact that Prairie is a biblically-based school providing some great programs in Bible, leadership, flight training, nursing and so on. As an Albertan, I want to support worthy institutions in my own back yard. I believe that schools like Prairie are critically important and that we must continue to invest in them in order to make the world a better place and to grow God’s Kingdom.
