My name is Gillian Blomsma and I serve as a Director of Student Development here at Prairie. I have the privilege of pastoring, counselling, and leading you within the community. I grew up in suburban New Brunswick, and have a great love for the East Coast. Most of my friends and family still reside in New Brunswick. It was at home I met Jesus as a sixteen year old young woman, and began to pursue Him, which led to pursuing the call of God on my life.
After completing my B.Th, in youth ministry, I taught English as a second language in South Korea for a year. In coming back to Canada, I began serving as a youth and children’s pastor in Woodstock, NB; then as Assistant Pastor of Life Care Ministries, working with seniors in Quispamsis, NB. Finally, as Administrative Assistant to the Ministries and Missions department of the Maritime District of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada.
In 2013, I left New Brunswick to pursue a Masters Degree in Student Development. I graduated with this degree in 2015, and continued working toward another Masters Degree in Counselling. I graduated 2021. I am also ordained with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada.
I am passionate about seeing young women understand their identity in Christ. Meaning, who Jesus says you are, not who others say you are. This passion encompasses you knowing his deep love for you through the truth of the Word, and the experience of His Holy Spirit leading you. It is a great honour to sit with you and hear your story as you walk with Jesus and learn to follow him.
For fun: I would love to take you for coffee and get to know you!
In my personal time, I love to read, play my guitar, and face time with my best friend of 25 years, (we’ve been friends since grade 10).
It is an honour and privilege to serve you as your Director of Student Development!
