Diploma in Bible

Two-Year Program (60 Credits)

In two years you’ll study the entire Bible in a way that’s designed to make the scriptures come alive through classroom instruction and spiritual reflection in community. Faculty will walk with you as you come to know the Living Word of God in fresh ways. You will grow in confidence as you come to know what the Bible teaches and how to view the world by its light. The Diploma in Bible is a valuable preparation for lay ministry or university studies, with introductory level biblical studies, theology, and humanities courses that will help you develop a solid Christian worldview.

The Diploma in Bible is also available by Distance Education

Courses revolve around:

  • Reading the entire biblical canon
  • Developing a Christian worldview
  • Thinking, writing, and leading well
Your training at Prairie College will provide you with a vital biblical foundation that will complement and enhance your future professional training. Depending on your choice of electives, the Diploma in Bible can be structured to count as two years toward one of Prairie’s four-year bachelor degree programs. You should also be able to transfer many of your credits to another school (you will need to confirm transferability) and continue towards a Bachelor’s degree in a variety of fields.
  1. Competently interpret both testaments of Scripture in their literary, historical, and theological contexts.
  2. Articulate the relevance of the Bible for contemporary faith and practice.
  3. Develop theological discernment grounded in Scripture.
  4. Grow in maturity as a disciple of Jesus in community with other believers.
  5. Demonstrate basic thinking, research, and writing skills for college-level work.
