Background

Born to missionary parents, Vernon grew up with a desire to serve God in Christian ministry. Trained as a musician at Prairie Bible Institute and later at the University of Alberta, he taught music at Prairie from 1986 – 2007.  From 2007-2010 he developed and coordinated the worship track of the B.A. Ministry at Prairie.  Over the years, his vision for fostering biblically and historically grounded worship in the church led to the development of a core of worship-related courses in the Prairie curriculum, and to doctoral studies at the Institute for Worship Studies, Orange Park, FL, where he completed the Doctor of Worship Studies program in 2011. He and his wife June are now enjoying retirement in the community of Three Hills.
