Mary DeLong

PN Instructor

  • BN, University of Calgary

Mary grew up in Fort Worth, Texas and moved to Olds, Alberta after marrying her Canadian husband. She worked in accounting prior to attending the University of Calgary to obtain her Bachelor of Nursing degree. Upon graduation, she worked both in Calgary and Red Deer hospitals prior to being blessed with three children (a daughter and twin sons). She then was a stay-at-home mom for 12 years before completing her Nursing Refresher course with Grant MacEwan University in 2005. After completing her refresher course, Mary worked in rural acute care in medical/surgical, emergency and obstetrics settings. She took on the manager role for Acute Care, Emergency and Operating Room/Day Surgery for four years prior to coming to Prairie to teach. She believes God opened a door when she was led to Prairie and is very happy to be here. She commutes from Olds where she lives on a farm with her husband and three children.
