Douglas was reared in a half-Christian home in the Pacific Northwest. He left the Church at age fifteen, but was pulled back in at twenty-three by a God who knew a lot more about him than he himself did. He and his wife Veronica have had a home, a life, and a ministry at Prairie since 1987. They have been surrounded at various times by three children and a number of cats, along with some of the best faculty, staff, and students on the planet.
Involvement at Prairie and in the Community
Douglas has served in the admissions and registrar’s offices since 1987. He is currently the registrar and a member, with some bewilderment, of various committees and of the Management Team. He has served in the past as a department chair and an instructor in literature and writing. Douglas is a licensed lay reader at St Barnabas Anglican Church. He reads services and preaches there about once a month.
