Cross-cultural travel and interaction can be intimidating but it doesn't need to be! The Discover program is about laying a foundation so that you will be able to interact, engage and share across cultures. Personally- I love to travel. I have had my “permanent” address in six nations on three continents. I love how God combines our desires with his call for our lives—he does not waste talents but provides life-giving opportunities to grow.
Leaving Prairie I felt a little unsure of where my Intercultural studies Certificate would take me. Now I am working with foster children and their parents, creating access to maintain family bonding under the title, “Family Empowerment Worker”. I love my job the challenges it brings every day. Prairie gave me the stepping stones I needed to pursue a career in social work, and the provided to the tools to know when God is guiding me in a certain direction.
In our world that is increasingly globalized, the Discover program will prove invaluable no matter what the future holds. Graduates of Discover will be able to go on and complete:
