My Employment Background
My first employment after college was in church ministry in Moncton, New Brunswick working in the area of music and Christian Education. The local church is something I believe is strongly and I value working with the community of God's people to see us grow in our knowledge of Jesus Christ. My path has been one of serving in church ministry and pursuing higher education. My long term goal was to teach in post-secondary education. I have worked in churches across Canada. Stanley Park Baptist in Kitchener, Ontario; Grant Memorial Church in Winnipeg, Manitoba; and Beulah Alliance Church in Edmonton, Alberta. For the past six years I was teaching at LeTourneau University in Texas as Associate Professor of Worship Arts.

My Passions

I value the local church as the community established by God to be the place where his people grow and are salt and light in the world. I have worked and studied in the areas of music and worship ministry. As I think about the worship ministry of the local church I consider three main areas. First, God deserves our worship. Second, the people of God need to be established and built up in the journey of faith. Third, the witness of the worshipping community expresses the reality of God's love and involvement in the lives of humankind. Each of these three areas are large areas of discussion and pursuit. Of particular interest to me is the training of worship leaders to lead from a pastoral posture and mindset.

What I Enjoy About My Job
I love working with students! I am committed to journeying with students in exploring and understanding the worship ministry of the local church. Music, history, technology, service planning, theology, spiritual formation, the Kingdom of God, pastoral implications, and discipleship are some of the facets of the jewel that is the worship of our triune God. It's an exciting and worthy pursuit!
