Sports Ministry & Management: In Depth

As a student in the Sports Ministry & Management Diploma Program, you will have the opportunity to gain a broad set of sports management and leadership skills designed to prepare you to become a proficient professional. Whether you are preparing for ministry or the sports and recreation industry, holistically educated leaders are required to handle a variety of diversified responsibilities, including supervision, facilities planning, program development, financial management, marketing, accounting and others.

Through this program you will also learn how to use the avenue of sports as a ministry tool by applying biblical principles for effective Christian leadership. Coupled with intentional spiritual growth opportunities, the Prairie experience is also a highly intensive discipleship program that seeks to form the spiritual attitude and disciplines needed for success wherever you go next.

El Salvador Missions Trip

All students will have the opportunity to apply to participate in a missions trip to Santa Ana, El Salvador. We have partnered with a local church there, Confraternidad Cristiana Más Que Vencedores, and currently plan to return evey other year (the most recent trip was May 2015). While there, the team works in local schools putting on sports clinics, teaching gym classes and competeing against local teams. For more information about this trip please contact the program coordinator.

Pilot's Athletics Participation

Students in this program will also benefit from being able to participate in the Prairie Pilots Athletics Program. Our teams are proud to be members of the Alberta Colleges Athletic League (ACAL). Pilots Athletics offers opportunities to participate in competitive Basketball, Volleyball, and Futsal (Indoor Soccer). Contact us for recruitment / ID Camp opportunities and Athletics Entrance Scholarship Information. For more information on Prairie Athletics, click here.

General 2
I look back on my time at Prairie and think: "If only I went there now; the campus is so alive these days." Then I remember that my Prairie experience, like anything in our faith life, really is as good as you allow it to be. For me, it was a safe haven in uncertain times, a source of refinement and my best friend forever factory. It was the place where Jesus met me often through the professors, my coaches, and the people within the town of Three Hills itself. I love where Prairie has come, and where it is going. As a mother, I am confident that anyone who attends is being well equipped to impact my son's world with the love of Jesus!
