Teens aged 14 to 18!
Come experience the adventure of the open skies in a summer camp setting and consider a life in mission aviation or commercial aviation! Prairie College | Mission Aviation offers an excellent opportunity during our summer flight camp for you to discover if a career in flying is for you.
Our goal for the week of flight camp is to have fun with airplanes as well as grow in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It is our desire that every camper be encouraged in their walk with God, while receiving a good introduction to the aviation industry.
Over the course of the week you will be at our aviation facility (located at the Three Hills airport) to participate in aviation related activities. Ground based instruction will cover topics such as: Theory of Flight, Navigation, Basic Flight Maneuvers, aviation in Canada and aviation in missions. These are taught by certified flight instructors and are the same lessons that make up part of our Private Pilot Ground School course.
In addition, you will be placed into a team of three campers and assigned an aircraft. Each day your team will be booked for one flight in which you will be able to practice what was learned in the Ground Instruction time. You will receive 2 – 3 hours of actual flight training (weather permitting), which can be logged into your very own Pilot Training Record.
We have a variety of activities planned for the evenings - come prepared for swimming, as well as indoor and outdoor games. Each evening will also include time around a campfire when we will have opportunity to consider the God who created the unchanging laws of physics that allow us to fly, and learn more about Him.
