Theology 100 is a free online course about Christian theology. Offered in our eLearning environment, this introductory one-credit course has been designed to encourage thought-provoking conversations among Christians.

What is Theology?

‘Theology’ is basically talk about God, and Christians talk about God in light of Scripture and their sense of God’s ongoing involvement in the world. In order to prepare you to contribute to this conversation, this course will introduce you to the biblical, historical and systematic aspects of theology. One reason for this sort of study is simply to get to know what a variety of Christians believe. Another more personal reason is to reflect carefully and consciously on our own lives in light of our beliefs about God and the character of the world.

Course Format

This free module is the first part of a larger course. Once enrolled, you will have two months (8 weeks) to complete the free one-credit portion. If you decide to purchase the second two-credit portion, you will have another four months (16 weeks) to complete that. Both sections of the course are continuous intake, so you can start whenever you want. Please note that you will need an internet-enabled desktop, laptop or tablet and the two required textbooks to participate. Online lessons include video lectures, assigned textbook readings, forum discussions and quizzes.

Registration & Textbooks

We hope that you will join us for Theology 100. We’ve tried to make it easy to register and convenient to participate even if this is the first post-secondary course you’ve ever taken.

Distance Education: Timeframe

You don't have to wait for a specific start date—just enroll and begin whenever it's right for you. Completion of a BAIS or BAM degree program takes an average of 4 years for students who are not also working.

Students have 6 months to complete each course in their program as counted from the day they enroll in the course. A 3-credit course will usually take 80-100 hours to complete. This means it will require around 3.5-5 hours per week for 24 weeks to finish a course.

Students requiring additional time to complete a course can apply for a maximum of 2 two-month extensions or 1 four-month reinstatement. Extensions and reinstatements begin on the original course due date, not on the date the extension or reinstatement is requested. If a course is not completed by the end of the allowed extension period, re-enrollment will be required.
